Lee Botti & Associates are proud to announce that we are turning 40 this month – quite an achievement in the fast-paced world of recruitment! With both expertise and experience on our side, we are currently recognised as the major source of quality permanent and temporary staff for the supply chain/logistics and travel industries in South Africa.
Looking back, we’ve come a long way… Founder Lee Botti, had qualified and worked as a teacher before having children. She then started Lee Botti Personnel as a half-day hobby in April 1977, focusing on travel recruitment. After just 4 months, she realised that there was a gap in the freight industry and started a dedicated freight division. The company quickly grew into a full-time business with offices in central Johannesburg. But Lee didn’t stop there – in 1983, she opened a branch in Kempton Park to service airfreight clients based in the East Rand. The Durban office was opened in 1985, followed by the Cape Town office in 1986. And Lee is still actively involved today, with the help of her two daughters and a great team nationally the business continues to strive. But now, her passion and attention sits with iThuba, a programme developed to teach and educate school learners on how to prepare for the world of work.
So what does this experience mean for our clients?
As Lee built up a business on assisting clients and candidates, we have seen long standing relationships where candidates have become clients and clients have become candidates. The focus has been to assist people in building their careers, while providing solutions to clients as they focus on building their businesses.
With three offices in each major South African city, we are currently the only agency specialising in our specific industries with national representation and we strive to visit each of our clients on a regular basis. Our consultants are IPSC qualified and highly trained. We are active members of APSO (Association of Personnel Service Organisation) and are committed to offering our clients only the best in service, attention, and candidates. Strong believers in supporting the industries we serve, we are also active members of the Exporters Club, Travelbags, and SKAL. And, because we’re proudly South African, we are a BBBEE rated company. We are proud to continue our relationship with P E Corporate Services since 2004, when they purchased our salary survey for the Clearing & Forwarding industry, and which continues to be published bi-annually.
